Pink Ladies Day for ABCR!

ABCR Community fundraiser Tom Lane is transforming the Gawler Central Sporting Club’s inaugural Ladies Day event to a Pink High Tea to raise vital funds for breast cancer research.

Losing his beloved wife Dianne to breast cancer last year at the young age of 46-years-old, Tom is determined to see research bring an end to the devastation the heartbreaking disease brings.

Dianne was first diagnosed with breast cancer at 30-years-old in 2001, and was given the all clear, until last year she visited the doctor after suffering from persistent headaches. Sadly, Dianne and Tom found out the cancer was back and had spread to her brain, she passed away only 11 weeks later.

It’s in memory of his wife and for the many other women battling breast cancer in the community that Tom is hosting the Pink High Tea event this Saturday July 29, kicking off from 12pm!

“It’s a day to highlight women in sport and women in our community,” Tom said.

“There are also some people at South Gawler and Gawler Central still going through issues with cancer.”

Ladies on the day are encouraged to wear pink as they’re treated to a glass of bubbles on arrival along with delicious food, guest speaker and market stalls and raffles – all going towards breast cancer research through ABCR.
